Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School
Highview Creations designed and installed this 18,000 square foot extensive green roof at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Fort Greene, Brooklyn in the summer of 2013. The project was funded by the NYC Department of Environmental Protection's Green Infrastructure Grant Program. The green roof system was installed with several species of pre-grown sedum tiles to provide instant coverage. With a multitude of benefits, the extensive green roof helps reduce stormwater runoff, lowers the building's heating and cooling costs, provides educational materials for students, and creates a habitat for native birds and pollinators.
